II/ MULTIFILTECH: Flexible Multifilaments Stainless steel yarns
- MULTIFILTECH is not releasing any metallic fibers in the environment because it is not made out of loose fibers.
- MULTIFILTECH has a very bright satin aspect, and can be used to make beatifull decorative effect in woven fabrics by example. It is also recommended, for bright/dull contrast effect to use this yarn in association with the SPUNTECH yarn family that has a MAT effect.
- This very bright shine of the twisted MULTIFILTECH yarn is also often used for architectural purpose or by innovative designers.
MULTIFILTECH exists in different counts :
BEWARE , due to the higher density of stainless steel (7,9), the apparent thickness of the MULTIFILTEC yarn has to be compared to a synthetic yarn apparently two or three time thinner in count
- counts available:
- 55 tex two ply: 0,11 gr/meter , or 110 tex resulting count
- 120 tex two ply: 0,24 gr/meter , or 240 tex resulting count
- 250 tex two ply: 0,50 gr/meter , or 500 tex resulting count
- 500 tex two ply: 1,00 gr/meter , or 1000 tex resulting count
- 250 tex 4 ply: 1,00 gr/meter , or 1000 tex resulting count
- 250 tex 6 ply: 1,50 gr/meter , or 1500 tex resulting count
- 250 tex 8 ply: 2,00 gr/meter , or 2000 tex resulting count

- Blends of several fibers as:
- Different alloys of stainless steel,
- Other high performance sythetics or mineral fibers: PBO, Aramid, E glass, Basalt, silicia, carbon etc...
- Association with other fibers as high temperature withstanding thermoplastics, as PPS by example, can lead to light non porous materials keeping by example an excellent heat transfer efficiency.
- PLA or Water dissolvable PVA yarns as CHIMERE can be used as help for transformation processes of brittle yarns... please question us!
Cut, Fire or other protections
- Cut protection: possibility of association or dyneema or other high performace material with stainless steel mono or multi filaments
- Fire protection: associations with meta-aramid or polamid imide as Kermel or Nomex: please question us
Electro magnetic shielding fabrics or yarns and antistatic applications
- TIBTECH TIBSHIELD: EMS shielding Yarns and cloth:
- Percentage and type of metallic fibers, within different textiles structures allow the optimization of shielding properties to the frequency range and to the required textile or composite structure or density.
Please note ,that, for certain types of very difficult application as military or electronics in a very wide range of frequencies, 3D or multilayers structures are often interesting to use to dissipate the ennergy.
