conductive, Semi resistive electro Heating Yarns, polystyrene cutting yarn
I/ The THERMOTECH or THERMOTIB multifilaments stainless steel alloy based Family:
The THERMOTECH Family is a range of long life and very flexible conductive or electro heating yarns.
THERMOTECH exists in version "N" or "I" insulated.
New!: THERMOTECH "IP 30" yarn: Very fine and flexible polyester insulated electro heating yarn
This yarn has been engineered to be used in knitting or weaving applications, together with as little thickness as possible. The THERMOTECH IP 30 is compatible, and eventually slightly dyable, with the other conventional polyester yarns that can eventually be processed together.
Its resistivity of 30 Ohms /meter is ideal for small size structures. It can also eventually be inserted in our electro heating ribbons or pads as insulated power return. Generally speaking, its insulation can withstand up to 250 Volts.
The THERMOTECH "N" (Without insulation)
, apart of its whide resistivity range, has the following characteristics:
- Cood resistivity and excellent flexibility
- Stainless, but without release or metallic particles in the environment because of the continuous filament form (for medical or clean rooms by example)
- Constant conductivity even with mechanical load variation
- Can be used as electro conductive yarns for low voltage power supply in flexible textiles structures
- Due to its continuous multifilament form, it preserves the data transfer quality, and can be therefore use in ESD or EMI applications.
- Withstanding very high temperatures , up to 600°C or even more when protected from high temperature oxydation
- Stainless, and withstanding sweat, saline water, light oxydation or washing processes
- Exellent fatigue withstanding in flexible structure,(multiple bendings or vibrations) leading to very good life time and better safety (hot spots)
- Can support very small curve radius: this means that it can be brought at the exact point were the foctionnality is needed.
- High mechanical performances
- Excellent performances in induction antenas, HF RFID applications, withstanding high number of industrial washing cycles
- Ideal for fine thermo cutting of thermoplastics or polystyrene.
- Weldable
- In many case Sewable
- Compatible within very flexible textile strutures, but also thermoplastics or composites.
In insulated version , the THERMOTECH "I"
- Keeps it properties of flexibility, fatigue withstanding, contant resistivity etc...
- Can withstand temperature up to 250 to 300°C, thanks to its high performance coating (MFA or equivalent)
- Their maximum load charge is 450 Volts
THERMOTECH exists in different resistivity:

- Some versions exists in form of sewing thread.
- NEW! A new version of THERMOTECH NC 14 yarn, called the " THERMOSEW " in 14 Ohms/meter,
is now available for sewing of eventually embroidery with a PTFE coating
The new THERMOTIB, very fine polyester insulated electro heating yarn of 30 Ohms/m
- Its resistivity of 30 Ohms/meter is optimized for small pads or surfaces that can be used in garnment making process or small industrial heating devices.
- Specialy designed to be used in SMART TEXTILES applications, where the temperatures must remain below 90°C
- Its polyester insulation is designed to operate at best with 12 to 48 volts , but can be allowing any voltage up to 230 volts , as long as the yarn temperature remains under 90°C
- The polyester covering, compatible with polyester fibers can even be partly dyable.
- Outerwall diameter of 0,6 mm
II/ The CONDUCTIB Family : fine and flexible electro conductive yarns
The CONDUCTIB yarns family are highly conductive yarns, as flexible and fine as possible, designed to bring the power or the signal to the right positionning of the fuctionnality in the structure.
They can eventually be reinforced by other elements as aramid or high tenacity filaments.
they can be made of different metals or alloy
- COPPER multifilament core
- One of the most commonly used product is the CONDUCTIB "I"insulated, with a +-0,85 mm outside diameter yarn , having a resistivity of less than 0,2 Ohms /meter.
- For higher power supply, we can also supply CONDUCTIB N 0,88 mm, with a resistivty as low as 34 Ohms/km (0,03 Ohms/m!)
- For other request as ultra fine reinforced conductive yarns: Please questions us
- SILVER or SILVER coated yarns

- Available in 77 dtex: They can be very effective in the field of EMS SHIELDING: attenuation of more that 55 Db !
- They can also be used for electro conductive or other applications
III/ The SPUNTECH Family :
It is characterized by :
- The spun tech family is made out of stainless steel 316L.
- An high resistvity ranging from 200 Ohms/m to 1000 Ohms/m.
- A variable conductivity in relation with several parameters :
- the fiber length and fiber diameter in microns,
- the twist or the crimping ratio,
- The weave or braiding pattern, or more generaly how compact the structure is.
- this specific characteristic can also lead to load measuring devices or pressure gages
- An excellent flexibility that allow very small curve radius.
- A lighter apparent density and a good softness as the yarn has a bulk effect.
- Withstanding very hig temperatures , up to 650°C in many case.
- Can withstand sweat, slight oxydation, washing processes etc.
- Also possible in blends with other fibers.
Example of applications fields
- Smart textiles or intelligent textiles,
- Signal or power transfer,
- Antistatics slivers or yarns,
- Electro magnetic Shielding,
- Electro heating yarns,
- RFID antenas or induction antenas.
- Detection devices.
